PHCSE athletics are open to all students with academic eligibility. The dedicated, experienced coaching staff teaches our Eagles the importance of teamwork, respect for the games, and how to develop their athletic abilities on and off the playing field or court.
The athletic program at Penn Hills Charter School works in conjunction with all other aspects of the school. It has been developed as an extension of the classroom setting.
Students in our Prep Academy may select from 4 interscholastic varsity & junior varsity middle school sports that compete in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). We will continue to grow the sports programs as interests grow. Our current sports teams are boys and girls basketball, cross country, and volleyball. Because of this affiliation, and the shared philosophy of all member schools, our athletics are highly competitive in nature; varsity teams must, therefore, be prepared thoroughly and extensively. These students are offered educational and athletic opportunities to provide skills that will develop positive citizens, confident leaders, and productive student-athletes geared toward success when they move on to 9th grade.
We offer a wide range of activities that grow each year. Along with our athletic teams, our intramural program offers student-athletes other options to compete in sports activities. We offer Intramural programs such as, ultimate frisbee, flag football, kickball, crossfit, and soccer.
