Go Eagles
We are a proud member of the WPIAL and PIAA.
PHCSE offers a variety of coed intramural programs: basketball, boxing, bowling, cheer, flag football, golf, hockey, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, soccer, swimming, tumbling and volleyball for students in grades 4-6. Competitive sports are available to students in 7th and 8th grade. Student-athletes must maintain a 2.5 GPA and meet behavior expectations to be eligible. The dedicated, experienced coaching staff teaches our Eagles the importance of teamwork, respect for the games, and how to develop their athletic abilities on and off the playing field or court.
The athletic program at Penn Hills Charter School works in conjunction with all other aspects of the school. It has been developed as an extension of the classroom setting.
7th- and 8th-grade students may select from three interscholastic sports that compete in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL). Our current sports teams are boys’ and girls’ basketball, and girls’ volleyball. Because of this affiliation and the shared philosophy of all member schools, our athletics are highly competitive in nature; teams must, therefore, be prepared thoroughly and extensively. These students are offered educational and athletic opportunities to develop skills that will cultivate positive citizens, confident leaders, and productive student-athletes, preparing them for success in 9th grade.
