Safe 2 Say Something
Educators, parents, students, and community members are now able to submit anonymous tips through Safe2Say Something, a new statewide youth violence prevention program and reporting system. We want parents and guardians to know that Penn Hills Charter School has a plan in place for the use and implementation of Safe2Say.
The program, which is mandated under PA state law, teaches students in grades five-12, educators, and administrators how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, of individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to say something to a trusted adult or use its anonymous reporting system.
With the anonymous reporting system, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies. Here is how the program works:
- Submit an anonymous tip report 24/7 through the Safe2Say Something system through the website, app, or by phone.
- The crisis center reviews, assesses, and processes all submissions
- The crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention
- If needed, the crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app
